Comparing Leading Weighted Blankets - which one is right for you?
Which weighted blanket should you buy? If you're shopping for a weighted blanket, sometimes it's confusing what your options are and why there's such a variation in price. We decided to do a blog to help clear up some of the confusion.
TRUBlanket was designed after sampling various weighted blankets and improving on their designs. We've outlined below some of the leading options on the market and how TRUBlanket's features compare.
TRUBlanket
Hands down our favorite, because we designed it to overcome shortcomings of other blankets on the market. Lots of premium details for a competitive price.
Gravity Blanket
A reasonable choice with more weight options, but not enough fabric to wrap around. Lumpy and uncomfortabledue to the weight shifting. Definitely disliked the poly bead option.
TRANQUILITY
The big square pockets on this one were far too large. This budget option feels cheap and may fall apart. It's a small size to wrap around the body. It's not machine washable. Beads shift around too much.
Obviously, we're partial to the TRUBlanket. We designed it to be a step above the rest. But we wanted you to know exactly what the different options are on the market.
The GRAVITY blanket is quite nice, and the most easily comparable to the TRUBlanket at a slightly more expensive price point the TRUBlanket. It's great quality, but it doesn't quite measure up in our opinion. Depending on the size, the beads are either plastic or glass. The squares are larger than our small diamond-shaped pattern. The weight doesn't distribute as well. The cotton blanket material is only 200 thread count, which is a rough weave.
Target and Sharper Image both have budget options that can't compare to TRUBlanket. First off, neither blanekt has an outer cover. The squares are large, so beads shift and both blankets are uncomfortably lumpy. The Target version isn't machine washable, which we find to be a deal-breaker. After all, if you can't clean the blanket, it will need replacing much sooner.
For those of you hoping for a budget option, stay tuned. We hope to have some great news for you very soon!
