Positioning Your Body For Great Sleep
Who knew there were so many secrets to sleeping?! Here are some tips on how you can improve the quality of your sleep:
A pillow, but for your legs??
Not many people really realize how many ways you can put all those extra pillows you have laying around to good use. One of our favorite ideas is to use a pillow, not for your head, but for your legs. The support a pillow can provide is game changing!
When sleeping on your side, simply put the pillow between your knees. This helps support the higher leg and giving your muscles some relief. Your lower back is relieved of duty and will thank you for a great night's sleep. When you are sleeping on your back, put the pillow under both your knees. This will have the same effect, relaxing the muscles used to keep your legs in such an unnatural position.
Support your arm, too. It's the same principle as supporting your leg. Trust me, pillows aren’t just for your head. You can use a pillow for your arm as well. There are many reasons you will sleep happier when next to your partner. Dopamine is one, but using them as an arm rest is another! Resting your arm on a pillow (or your partner) will place your posture in a natural position and relax the muscles. Have 3 pillows while you sleep, or prop up on your partner if they're willing. Whatever helps you both get a great night's sleep is perfect.
Trust me, a pillow is not just for your head.
An adjustable base for your mattress: There are many ways to match a person with a mattress, but why not have your mattress match you?
With an adjustable base, you can perfectly match your bed to your posture. Move the upper and lower motors until you no longer feel pressure, aching, sharp pains, or even the mattress! Eventually, when you find the right position, you’ll be floating in the clouds. Save the position to a preset, and sleep there every night! When you can change the positions of your torso and lower body, you don’t have to find a mattress that will do the same.
